Yamunaji Sampurn Puja Vidhi
Yamunaji Sampurn Puja Vidhi is a complete and sacred method of worshipping Maa Yamuna, who is revered as the daughter of Surya Dev, sister of Yamraj, and the divine river associated with Lord Shri Krishna’s pastimes. The puja generally includes purification, Sankalp, Kalash Sthapana, invocation of Maa Yamuna, offering water, flowers, Akshat, sandalwood, incense, lamp, fruits, sweets, and other sacred items. Devotees may also recite Yamuna Mantra, Yamuna Stuti, Yamunashtak, Chalisa, or Kavach and conclude the worship with Maa Yamuna Aarti, Kshama Prarthana, and distribution of Prasad. Worshipping Yamunaji with devotion is believed to purify the mind and soul, remove negativity, bring peace and prosperity, and strengthen devotion toward Radha-Krishna. This puja holds special significance on Yamuna Jayanti, Bhai Dooj, Ekadashi, Purnima, and other auspicious occasions.
Yamunaji Sampurn Puja Vidhi explains the complete devotional process of worshipping Maa Yamuna with proper rituals, purity, faith, and reverence. Before beginning the puja, devotees should bathe, wear clean clothes, and prepare a peaceful and clean worship space. A picture or idol of Maa Yamuna, or a Kalash symbolizing her divine presence, may be placed on a clean platform. The worship begins with Achaman, purification, Ganesh Vandana, and Sankalp, followed by the invocation of Maa Yamuna. Devotees then respectfully offer clean water, Panchamrit, clothes, sacred thread, sandalwood paste, vermilion, turmeric, Akshat, flowers, Tulsi leaves, incense, lamp, seasonal fruits, sweets, and Naivedya.
During the puja, devotees may chant the Yamuna Mool Mantra and recite Yamuna Stuti, Yamunashtak, Yamuna Chalisa, or other sacred hymns. Maa Yamuna is especially connected with Braj Bhoomi and the divine leelas of Lord Shri Krishna; therefore, worshipping Radha-Krishna along with Yamunaji is considered highly auspicious. After offering prayers, the devotee performs Maa Yamuna Aarti, offers flowers, and seeks forgiveness through Kshama Prarthana for any mistakes committed during the worship. The ceremony concludes with Pradakshina, Namaskar, and distribution of Prasad.
It is believed that sincere worship of Yamunaji grants spiritual purification, mental peace, family harmony, prosperity, protection from difficulties, and freedom from negative thoughts and actions.
